I have a surprise for you – the first-ever Greek Detective short story is available on Kindle from today!
I’m asked almost daily when the next Hermes book will hit the bookshop shelves, so I’ve written Still Waters for those of you patiently waiting for a new full-length Greek island mystery. It’s got all the Hermes hallmarks – August heat, blue sea and yes, of course, the food! – in a compact package, and I hope it will go some way to filling the gap between The Feast of Artemis and what comes next.
The story was originally commissioned by the prestigious and rather wonderful Monocle magazine, so if you spent your summer on the French or Italian Riviera where the magazine has a big readership, you may already have seen it. If not, I’m very pleased to offer it to you now.
If you’re in the US, you’ll find the story on Amazon.com.
Unfortunately, given that Still Waters is a short story and word-count was tight, Hermes had no time to wander to the baker’s for bougatsa, but I shall rectify that next time.
Hermes, welcome back, albeit only briefly for the time being.
Author of the Mysteries of the Greek Detective, books with a touch of mythology set in almost-contemporary Greece, and featuring lots of fabulous Greek food.
